Humpback Whale, Cape Cod 2016 |
Saturday, May 5, 2018
It's been a long time since I wrote this blog. In the interim, we've traveled home from Dodge City, which was my last blog in 2015. In 2016, we spent about 10 days on Cape Cod in September, after celebrating our daughter's wedding on Sept. 10. And in 2017, Joe retired, after which we traveled out to Denver to celebrate the bris of little Judahbear, as we call him, who was born on (I think) June 12, or somewhere thereabouts. After spending a couple of days in Denver, we traveled up into the Rockies for a day at an exquisite mountain campground, and then turned around again and traveled home, making several enjoyable stops along the way, mostly in Kansas. Our favorite was Lucas, KS, the "folk art capital" of the state-- where we saw so many fun things, and camped at a Corps of Engineer campground. We also spent a long weekend in July at a state park in Pennsylvania, before Joe began some extensive surgery on his back and neck. And our RV has been waiting for us ever since.

As of the current date,Joe is still recuperating after 3 surgeries, but we are thrilled to be able to get back on the road. Our destination this time--Madison, WI, where our godson Natan will be graduating from the University of Wisconsin, and getting his commission from the US Air Force. After that, we will explore (nothing is planned) until Thursday, when we will arrive at Elkhart Campground in Elkhart, IN for an RV rally sponsored by RVillage. It will be our first rally, and we are looking forward to it! We plan to leave Highland Park on Monday morning and take about 4 days to get to Madison. Meanwhile, we also have replaced our old traveling laptop computer, so this blog is by way of an experiment--both to see how Blogspot may have changed, and to start us off again. I'm hoping that with the slower pace we plan to take, I will get back to blogging our adventures again.
